I liked Gretchen Rubin’s Better Than Before even better than Atomic Habits.
New Twister (Twisters) movie is worth seeing. Obsessed with the old one and it made me really happy. Perfect amount of cheese and little throw backs to the OG. Go.
My overpacking hack is to start packing weeks before your trip. I always ended up throwing in things at the last minute “just in case” but the longer you think about it the less you realize you need. I chart out each day with a vague outline of our plans and populate what I know I am going to wear to the big/special events and then use those clothing building blocks to fill in the rest of the days. And then I try on the outfits so i have the confidence to know it will work. I have packed for a ten day trip that involved a Broadway show, an NFL game and a concert in a carry on! I do this for business travel too. The less ‘i don’t know what I’m going to want to wear” and the more “okay i have this, this, and this for this day” really cuts down the overpacking.
The best advice I got for overpacking “if it fits, it’s not overpacking, it’s preparing”. This positive mindset changes the energy and also, when necessary, is a clear limit I got to rein it in!
