What I Read In July 2023.
Oh my gosh how it’s my favorite reading time!! I’m not getting in quite as much reading as I would like, but the books I’ve read have been great!
My big summer reading list is here!
You can find my reading lists here and previous What I read posts here.
And you can follow me on goodreads here.
I do have a book of the month membership – I love it so much. I get so many of my new releases and debut author books there. You can sign up for one here.
All of these books are linked through bookshop (if available!) and I highly suggest shopping through there because it will support your local indie bookstore. You can choose the local bookstore to support! I support Penguin Books when I buy which is my fave here in Pittsburgh.
WHAT I READ IN JULY 2023
The Summer of Songbirds
Such a great one!! I love Kristy’s books so so much. This was the best one yet. The story follows four women who want to save the summer camp that they loved as kids when it’s about to go under. Absolutely loved loved loved these characters! I’m all about the special summers of youth and this story immerses you in it.
Sunshine Nails
This was a great read. So many POV – I think there are five different points of view and really well written. The story follows a Vietnamese family who owns a nail salon when a super fancy nail franchise opens up across the street. We see how each family deals with the new salon opening up and taking their business.
Summer Stage
Loved this one! Lots of summer drama, a whole family involved and the characters are so good. I was so invested in these people! The story follows the family who is putting on a play on their summer island. I loved the relationship between Sam and her uncle!
The Summer Girl
This was such a fun summer read. The story follows Cassie who movies back to the beach towel so her grandmother can sell their family hotel & move to family. She wants a summer fling but obviously ends up with more. There was a bit of a twist in here too with some family drama. It’s a good one!
(This is not sponsored but there are a few bookshop and/or affiliate links above! Thank you for reading!)

When I started reading your description of The Summer of Songbirds, it immediately made me think of Firelight Girls by Kaya McLaren. Have you read that?
Loving the covers☺️
Please bring back the star ratings! (I generally only read the books that you give 4.5-5 stars) 🙂
Yes! Agreed! I love your ratings so much!!!
My first thought! I *need* those star reviews! 😀
Agreed!! Star rating is super helpful!
Agree! I always look at star ratings
Looks like some good book choices. I was looking for your star reviews too. I can’t get to all the books and we have similar Luke’s. It helps me prioritize what I want to read.
Yes! Bring back your star ratings please! So helpful!
