Apple Cider Prosecco Spritz.
Meet my new favorite thing: an apple cider spritz!
Cocktail Thursdays are BACK for the fall and I couldn’t be more excited!
I mentioned it in my last summer fridays post of the year, but this season gets me so pumped for fun drinks that I couldn’t pass up any more weeks of not sharing these with you. It was like I was hoarding secrets all to myself. Secrets of tequila and rosé and whiskey and champagne.
Not all together in one glass, don’t worry.
Let’s start with this cider prosecco spritz. Ummm it’s been no secret that for the last three or four years I’ve been aperol spritz obsessed. Yes, the classic aperol spritz – I don’t want any other variations in the summer!
The rest of the year though? That’s another story.
Last December, I shared this winter version that I love so much. And in the howsweeteats holiday guide, there is an aperol punch!
So it was high time for a slightly autumnal spritz. Or, for me to… um… trash up a spritz with apple cider. Yes that sounds about right.
If you love apple cider like I do AND you love prosecco like I do, well then, you’re going to be in heaven. The slight orange flavor of the aperol really complements the apple and it’s super refreshing while also being… warm?
You know. Me and all my great descriptions.
I LOVE this drink because it helps transition these late summer weeks into early fall. It’s bubbly and icy but has a little warmth from the cider and the cinnamon. Not to mention the flavor – hello!
It’s also embarrassingly easy. Throw everything together over ice and you’re golden. Sip it on the patio as the sun goes down (earlier and earlier!) and the air gets a little cooler.
Sounds dreamy, tastes even dreamier!

This sounds absolutely delicious! As a huge Aperol fan, I am of course willing to try anything with Aperol, but the combination with apple cider sounds, like you said, like the perfect transition to fall.
These look so good, and so perfect for fall!

It’s “Five O’Clock Somewhere” and this is what we had today. Perfect for Cocktail Thursdays….but we may repeat it tomorrow! Thanks for a great recipe and another way to use Apple Cider.
I’m in! Prosecco paired with almost anything really, but apple cider is a nice paring, thank you

Love the hearts to replace photos! And love your manicure too! And the cocktail, of course.
This is for sure going to be my signature cocktail at my wedding in 2 months! Maybe with a red wine floater?
Just made this, and it’s fantastic! Great way to start fall. Don’t skip the cinnamon 😀
Can this be made in a big batch to serve at a fall party? Thanks
Yum, yum! This recipe is just everything I’ve ever wanted in a cocktail! Just by looking at it and reading the ingredients, I can tell it will surely be a favorite of mine, especially during the Fall season!
It is delicious and makes the drinker feel refreshed and passionate
This was fab and got rave reviews from friends I served it to!

When you say add soda, what kind of soda are you meaning? Soda water, cola, spirit?
I can wait to try this! I’m planning my Thanksgiving menu, and I think this will be a great way to start with the appetizers with.
soda water! thank you Debra!
Hello! Could you help me make this pitcher size?! I am not so good at math and don’t want to mess up this fabulous drink…help?!
Thanks!
yes! so you do want this to stay fizzy since it’s a spritz, because of that, i would recommend putting the base in the pitcher and having bottles of prosecco on ice next to the pitcher so you can top off. i would start with:
3 cups apple cider
2 cups aperol
1 cup club soda
mix that in a pitcher and then fill the glasses half way full, topping off with prosecco as they are served!
of course you can put the prosecco in there too but it will not stay as fizzy. if you want to go that route, i’d do 3 cups prosecco in there too.
I am definitely going to try this. I suppose there can be many variations, but…
Do you use alcoholic or non-alcoholic apple cider? If non-alcoholic: sparkling or non-sparkling?
Did you put an orange slice/peel in there? It looks like it in the photos, but I don’t see reference to it in the recipe. Thanks!
