Sheet Pan Cheeseburger Pasta.
This sheet pan cheeseburger pasta is a weeknight meal that we all enjoy! Baked farfalle topped with melty cheddar and cheeseburger beef – it’s a delight! So flavorful, chewy and even light. Add it to the list!
Um, hi. I made dinner!
This sheet pan cheeseburger pasta is made with tender bow ties, ground beef, melty cheddar and your favorite burger toppings.
It tastes like heaven!
Can you tell that I’m having a moment with cheeseburger flavors?
I am and I love it!
Cheeseburger tacos, stuffed sweet potatoes, salad, meatballs, tostadas and more. Can’t get enough.
It’s such a nostalgic and comforting flavor. Full of summer vibes too!
This is just one more way to enjoy it. And it may seem a little odd, but it totally works. It’s a nice switch up to pasta if you’re looking to make something unique with classic flavors.
Now, the main reason that I love this is because unlike other hamburger helper-like meals, this pasta is actually quite light.
I’ve made the version in a skillet before and it’s very rich and cheesy and cozy and comforting. Super delicious.
This pasta bake is not creamy. It’s not overly cheesy, but it does have lots of melted white cheddar! It has all the flavors of that classic cheeseburger dish – the seasoned ground beef, melty cheese and even tomatoes and onions.
At the same time, it isn’t heavy! And I love that because it’s a nice switch.
This is something you can make and serve with a greens salad and you actually feel perfectly satisfied once you’re done.
On that same note, my kids go wild for it.
So it’s a crowd pleaser all around.
You can also switch this up in many ways. First, you can use ground beef or ground turkey. You can also use different variations of cheese.
Another great idea is to throw in some of your favorite burger toppings. Caramelized onions or mushrooms? Go for it.
Heck, even if you want to pile this pasta on TOP of a bed of greens, it will work. That’s delish too!
A note: this is not one of those throw-and-go sheet pan meals. In order for this to work best, you have to cook the pasta and the ground beef before throwing everything on one pan. Trust me, I tested it so many different ways.
The above works best and everything marries together on the pan, in the oven. But it remains light and you don’t get that super-heavy pasta feel.
If you’re looking for that traditional creamy cheeseburger pasta in a skillet, this recipe isn’t for you. But!
If you’re feeling like a cheeseburger pasta bake that while not creamy, is still loaded with flavor, game on!
Tastes like home!
Sheet Pan Cheeseburger Pasta
Sheet Pan Cheeseburger Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 pound farfalle pasta
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- kosher salt and pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 16 ounces sharp white cheddar cheese
- ½ cup chicken stock, or reserved pasta water
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the farfalle according to the package directions.
- While it’s boiling, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef with a big pinch of salt and pepper and the garlic powder. Cook until browned, breaking it apart into small crumbles. Stir in the ketchup and mustard until combined. Turn off the heat and add in a sprinkle of cheese - just 2 to 3 ounces.
- Once the pasta has been drained, spread it out on a large sheet pan. Add the chicken stock (or starchy pasta water) into the pan. This helps keep the pasta tender and moist and prevents it from drying out.
- Sprinkle half the cheese on the pasta. Sprinkle the ground beef mixture on top. Then top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until warm and melted together. Remove and immediately top with green onions and tomatoes. You can add anything else you like on your burger too!
- Serve immediately. This should definitely be seasoned enough, but you can always add a pinch of salt and pepper if needed!

Any time I get asked for a recipe (bridal showers, cookbooks compiled at work or school, etc.), I always give out my cheeseburger pasta recipe. It’s just like this but I’ve never cooked it on a sheet pan. I must try that now!!! And I think pickles are a requirement so that makes me a freak like you…lol! A cheeseburger without pickles is so boring. Just kidding…kind of.
Needs more sauce but decent
